COVID-19 Temporary Closure

To all the families who visit us or are yet to visit us,

We hope you and your families are all staying safe and well.

We are extremely sorry to announce that after much deliberation we have decided that we will not be opening St Augustines Farm this year.

We have been listening to Government guidance and advice on the COVID-19 situation and given a great deal of thought about how we could realistically open the farm. We have considered all the changes required to our day to day running in order to provide a safe environment for both visitors and staff and combined with the limited capacity we would be able to operate at we have decided it is not viable for us to open the farm.

Although the farm is mainly outdoors and in the fresh air and therefore the perfect environment to get out and about in with the family, we feel that what people most enjoy about visiting us is the interaction with the animals (and farmers!) to feel part of the farm.

Our primary aim has always been to get everyone interacting with the animals and feeling at home on the farm. With social distancing rules in place we feel we would not be able to provide the level of service that we would normally expect to give. We also would not be able to open any of our indoor barns housing the ride on tractors and play equipment, which may again reduce your experience of our farm.

We do however intend to spend this year working on a lot of DIY and developing parts of the farm ready for when we re-open, so there will be exciting new areas to discover and attractions to look at! Keep an eye on our web and Facebook pages for updates.

We are also going to take the opportunity to develop the working farm side of the business this year. As some of you may know from talking to us when you visit, my partner and I have come back into the business in the last couple of years and are looking to take it forward. We are hoping to make this year an opportunity rather than a setback and get stuck in with the farming in the meantime!

We apologise again for not being able to invite you to share our farm this year, but we hope you will bear with us until we are able to welcome you all back again.

The St Augustines Family (goats and all)
